Unlike the song, by The Presidents of the USA, you don’t need to to move to the country to eat a lot of peaches. With the wet May and hot sunny June and July many crops are ready almost a month earlier than usual. Notably the Ontario stone fruit, peaches, nectarines, yellow plums, and fresh apricots. We had the pleasure of buying some fresh fruit a roadside stand in Niagara on a recent visit and I was blown away by the sweet apricots warm from the morning sun.
Head to your local farmers market or the grocery store to stock up and enjoy the local bounty while you can!!
